Chris Moses is a PhD candidate in Divinity at Emmanuel College, Cambridge. His academic background lies in Theology & Religious Studies (BA, Cambridge) and Modern Middle Eastern Studies (MPhil, Oxford), and his professional experience includes media, research, and international affairs.
Chris’s doctoral research, funded by an Arts & Humanities Research Council PhD scholarship, explores the roles of Islamic institutions in contemporary Britain, considering the construction of their various meanings, organisational issues such as strategy, authority and sustainability, and their presence as Islamically identifiable actors inhabiting multiple public spheres.
His research interests include social anthropology of religion, Islam and Muslims in Europe, religion and the public sphere, civil society, religion and politics in the Middle East, and modern inter-faith relations.
